Ian began as a hobbyist before committing fully to the trade — training at specialist diamond setting schools in Russia and Belgium, then taking a seat at the bench at Graff Diamonds. He started documenting the journey at the same time, growing an audience from 6k to over 240k followers and tripling business revenue in the process.
Today he runs Setting the Standard as his education brand, the Microsetting Academy as his flagship course, and Atelier Barnard as his jewellery label — while continuing to build one of the most recognised personal brands in the fine setting world.
